Sunny Glorious Britain

What fantastic weather we are having at the moment, and I chose this week to take holdiay from work - how lucky is that!

Showing two cards today, the first is a card I made for my son's birthday. Stamps are from my own stash, but I have used SU colours of Not Quite Navy, Real Red and Basic Black for inks and card stock. I was realy pleased with this card and it was a lot of fun to make. I tried a new technique using a stamp made from triangular shaped off-cuts of rubber over my stamped background. This idea was passed on to me by Carla, via Hayley Gillie (thanks Hayley). If you would like more details on how to make the stamp or how to use it on your background please contact me, details above.

My next card follows on the same theme with a Union Jack flag made from the new Twitterpated designer papers and a stamped background using the Fine Flourish individual stamp.

After stamping the flourish I cut it diagonally into four triangles and inked the edges using a sponge dauber. I then added the triangles to the blue patterned paper, adding the red paper strips on top. The crown is from the Clearly for You stamp set. Another fun card to make.

Have a lovely sunny weekend.

Framelits Top Edge Card

I have taken a couple of workshops this week and it has been really good sharing ideas with some lovely people. The new Summer Mini Catalogue seems to be very popular, especially the Framelits label dies.

Today I am showing a simple design where I have used the Framelits to shape the top of the card.

In the accompanying picture I have shown that if you place a folded card through the die with the cutting edge facing down you can cut the top section only. Before die-cutting trim the folded card to fit inside the Framelit as shown. Please note that the edges of the die underneath your card will cut into the cutting plate of your die cutting machine. You can cut the paper layer in the same way using one size smaller die.

New Summer Mini & Framelits Shaped Card

Hello,

I have been absent without leave for a while catching up on a few things, so little late with this announcement, but the new Summer Mini Catalogue has now launched (see link on left of my blog). There are some great new products and as I have a couple of workshops this week, I will be sharing some of my samples and cards made using items from the new book.

The base card for this design has been cut with the new 'Framelits' label dies, and I have used the new Twitterpated Designer papers and the lovely pleated and stitched ribbon.

Card:  Baja Breeze and Island Indigo
Ink:  Island Indigo
Stamps:  Aviary
Ribbon:  Pleated Satin in Riding Hood Red
Also used:  Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder and Designer Printed Brads

Thanks for stopping by. I will be back soon with another card using the new and very elegant 'Framelits' label dies.
