The Open Sea - Birthday Flags

My last card in this set uses stamps from The Open Sea set together with pennants punched from the Attic Boutique Papers.

On this card I have 'stippled'  the edges with Soft Suede ink and a stiff brush to give an aged look. The flags have made with the Petite Pennants Builder punch and have been inked all round using a sponge dauber and again Soft Suede ink. The stamped globe has been cut out and also edged with ink.

Card stock: Crumb Cake (for base card), Soft Suede and Very Vanilla.

The Open Sea - Ink Splodges

My third card in this set uses the beautifully detailed pen design paper from the Attic Boutique papers.

You may be be wondering where The Open Sea stamp set features on this card. I have used the background text stamp in the set to cover one of the labels.

Cardstock colours: Soft Suede, Island Indigo and Very Vanilla.
Inks: Soft Suede and Island Indigo.
Stamps: The Open Sea, ink splodges from French Foliage and the birthday greeting is from a hostess set.

Will be back in a couple of days with the last card in this set, which as you can see from the above picture uses the pennant punch to make some birthday flags.

The Open Sea - Tear Away

Showing my second card in this set, and you can see a sneak peak of cards three and four tucked behind the main image below.

I have stamped text from The Open Sea over one of the Attic Boutique background papers used on my card. The text has also been stamped onto Crumb Cake cardstock for the tag. All torn edges of the paper have been inked using a sponge dauber. As in my previous card I wrapped  Island Indigo Bakers Twine around the card, adding an Antique Brad for some extra interest on the tag.

Cardstock: Crumb Cake and Island Indigo.
Ink: Soft Suede

Back next time with card three in this set.

The Open Sea - Cards for Men

As previously mentioned, this week I will be showing some cards suitable for men or for people who like to travel. These have been made using a new set of stamps The Open Sea, teamed with the new Attic Boutique Papers, both of which are available from Stampin' Up Demonstrators from the 1st May.

My colours for ink and cardstock layers are Soft Suede, Basic Grey and Island Indigo constructed on a base card of Crumb Cake. I have also used the new Bakers Twine in Island Indigo.

I was pleased with the way this card came together and as always the stamps give a very clear impression making them a pleasure to stamp with.

Prior warning about my next post, it does involve tearing the paper!

Attic Boutique - Yellow Canary

A second card using the beautiful Attic Boutique papers. The background for today's card is from the same sheet as used in my previous post with the fountain pens. I have used the swirl effect on the paper to resemble a branch to hang my bird cage from.

I have again used the 'Framelits' label dies to mat and layer my bird cage. Sorry the canary is not very clear but for those of you who don't know, you can click on my image and your computer will enlarge it for you.

Cardstock colours:  Daffodil Delight, Soft Suede and Whisper White.
Ink colours:  Daffodil Delight and Soft Suede.

Attic Boutique papers, 'Framelits' label dies and Bakers Twine (wrapped around card) will all be available when the new mini catalogue launches on the 1st May.

Keep watching - my next post will continue with cards made from these lovely new papers.

Attic Boutique Papers

Hello again, and as promised today's card showcases a beautiful new set of papers (available from the 1st May) Attic Boutique. The background layer for this card is purely the paper with a very elegant design of pens and swirls etc. Over the next few posts I will be showing some of the other papers in the set. Decorative papers play a big part in my card making. I find them quite inspirational and I enjoy matching the additional layers on the card to the design and colours of the paper.

The label has been stamped from a new set Apothecary Art (designed to partner the new 'Framelits' label dies), and a punched circle from some embossed card has been added on top of the label and underneath the sentiment.

Cardstock colours:  Soft Suede, Calypso Coral, So Saffron and Whsiper White.
Ink colours:  Soft Suede and Calypso Coral..

There is currently an offer for April with Stampin' Up that if you spend £45 or more you can choose a free set of papers from a choice of 4 but please not the Attic Boutique is not part of the offer. Click the link here to see the papers available. Please contact me, details above, if you wish to take advantage of this offer.

Back soon,

Aviary with Framelits Label Dies

Introducing the new 'Framelits' Label Dies. These dies are a very elegant shape and I have used the largest die to make the base card for the design below.

To make the base card you need to pull your creased edge clear of the die so that you will not be cutting the left hand 'point', and then cut your card using the Big Shot machine. To make the card more stable cut away a small section from the bottom. I like the idea that if you make your base card using the die you can then match the shaped layers, and it is not so obvious that your base card has been 'adjusted' for this purpose as your eye gets drawn into the layers. I added a tied piece of ribbon to the crease to balance the point on the other side. My finished card is approximately 13.5cm x 11cm and will fit into most C6 envelopes.

Customers will be able to purchase the dies from the 1st May. This is the only shape that will be available and they come in a set of six dies (I have seen some cheaper sets lately that only have 3 dies per pack). They come in a plastic popper folder which makes excellent storage.

Card Colours: Lucky Limeade, Melon Mambo, Early Espresso and Whisper White.
Ink Colours: Melon Mambo and Soft Suede.
Stamps Sets: Aviary and the swirls from Everything Eleanor.

Back soon showing some wonderful new papers.

Aviary - Take 4

Back with card 4 using the Aviary stamps. Probably my favourite so far as I love matting and layering squares and then playing about with the placement until I come up with a pleasing design.

My colours for this card are cardstock of Melon Mambo and Lucky Limeade with inks of River Rock, Melon Mambo, Early Espresso and Soft Suede. The background layer of paper is text in Soft Suede from the Neutrals Paper Stack.

In addition to the the Aviary stamps, I have used the text stamp from French Foliage.

Back next with a card using the new Framelits Labels Dies which will be available from the 1st May, and yes the card does have a bird cage on it!

Aviary - Take 3

Hi everyone, well I was wrong about the weather in Andover because we have had a lovely sunny day today. Hope you are enjoying your Easter weekend.

Showing a further card today featuring the Aviary stamps (don't worry only a couple more to go). I had overlooked this set in the main catalogue until recently, but I have had great fun playing with it and could probably go on, and on and on......

This card uses the same colour scheme as my previous card of Early Espresso, Soft Suede, River Rock, Melon Mambo and Lucky Limeade.

The text stamp behind the birds on the background layer is from French Foliage, and this has also been used on the focal image and stamped behind the greeting.

I hope to be back tomorrow with Take 4!
